Philip had been requesting his charismatic leader for many days to come to his house. Due to his continuous persuasion, the leader vowed to come one day. Philip arranged for the leader's visit to give a grand welcome. He decorated the house. He ornamented house with decorations, bought new tables and chairs. The leader came on that day as he promised. After talking for a while, they went to the dining room for the lunch. The dining room was full of pungent smell. A variety of dishes came to the dining table. Some foods were high in salt. Some were too spicy. In some, oil was overused. Some foods are not cooked properly. Unable to eat them, the leader left.
Like this, if the food in some houses is tasty, the house will not be clean. In some houses the house is clean and the food is good but the dining table is not clean. Guests who are willing to stay for several days will thus leave in one day. Like this, our body is the abode of the presence, grace and wisdom of the Lord. Our mind is a dining room. Our thoughts are on the types of food items presented before the Lord. Even if one of these (Body, Mind and Thoughts) is found with defects, the divine presence and grace and wisdom that come as guest will soon depart from us. Keep body and soul pure. Wash and clean them immediately to remove any stains or abrasions. Make thoughts the favorable and suitable food of the Lord. Eliminate spicy foods such as anger, deceit, jealousy, greed, evil words, lustful thoughts, hatred, arrogance, insert, vain pride, criticism, guilt, and revenge. Multiply the delicious foods of love, patience, compassion, meekness, forgiveness, peace, happiness, humility and good conduct. The Lord who tastes these will make His presence, grace and wisdom with you forever. You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord. - Leviticus 19:28 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. - Colossians 3:5
